Impermanence

I've developed a new kind of obstinance,

Thinking about life's impermanence,
We are just beings that are ephemeral,
With joys and fears that are temporal,
So smell the roses and lilies while your summer still lasts,
Enjoy your presents, dream your futures & relish your pasts.

Chaos Theory?

A volcano erupts,
Money corrupts,
Social media interrupts,
and Technology disrupts!

Enjoy Life

You don’t need to belong to a cult to have culture,

You can succeed in life without being a vulture,

Always be true to yourself,

Keep your ego on the shelf,

And you’ll have more fun in life’s adventure.

On the cusp of another Ides of March

As we come upon the cusp of another Ides of March
And the indoor heaters cause our lips to parch
Be thankful for those before us who fought for our rights
Just so we could have better days and better nights.

An Ode to 'crats ...

I'd rather be a technocrat ... than a bureaucrat,
I'd rather be a democrat ... than an aristocrat,
I'd rather be a meritocrat ... than a theocrat,

I'd rather be a monocrat ... than a plutocrat,

I'd rather be in a thalassocrat ... than in a gerontocrat,

I'd rather neither be in an ochlocrat ... nor in a mobocrat.

Are we really that independent?

Independence is that complex state of mind, financial or political freedom

It is that point in our existence when we can fend for ourselves ...

A state where we no longer care for help from others or need 'em

When we can forget bygone debts and put worries on the shelves!

Ah, but it is hardly that simple in real life, is it?

Because in truth we all need each other to survive ...

However far apart we may be, we'll always be closely-knit

So, we stick together so that we can feel more alive!

Father's Day ...

Every third Sunday in June 

Ere summer has actually arrived 

American kids celebrate to a tune 

To honor Dads that have thrived!

Patriot Graves ...

Across the cemetery in broad daylight
Rows 'n' columns of tombstones in plain sight
And a flag was ceremoniously placed at every grave
Honoring a patriot who saved us but whom we couldn't save.

Humorous faces ... defeated
Cynical smirks ... dry
Puncture the pregnant silence
With a madman's scream
And plunging their silence into ...
Into a void, a hollow or an abyss?
Because, there is no wind here ...

The Ebb & Flow of the Web & Workflow

In the last dozen or so years, we have witnessed two key information technologies that have changed (nay, revolutionized) the way businesses operate today. The first of these, of-course, is the World Wide Web and the other, perhaps lesser known, is Workflow.

As Thomas Friedman noted in his bestseller book "The World is Flat", that Workflow Software was Flattener #3.
